I don't have the documents in front of me, so I'll let someone else dig out a reference that all triggered effects follow that "only on cards you control" philosophy. What if there aren't units at an adjacent planet? I'm assuming that the rule under "Card Effect" that says "A card ability may be initiated if all or part of its effect is able to resolve." would preclude you from triggering this Interrupt if there was nothing you could declare an attack against?ġ. Could you point me to the specific rule that covers Interrupts and Reactions too?Ģ.

I feel like I'm just missing the reference because I assumed that was the case. Actions are called out under the RRG as only triggerable on cards you control but Interrupts and Reactions are not unless I'm missing the section that this is covered under. This was my gut feeling and reading of the rules as well but I did have some follow up questions for my own personal information.ġ. Personal comment: I would not be surprised to see this card get an "Attach to a Mobile unit you control" errata in the near future. (Also a basic mechanic of the game cards are read from the point of view of their controller - but with interesting results in this case.) That means, on an enemy unit, this card would force that unit to attack one of its fellows at an adjacent planet. So you're looking at an enemy of the attachment, not necessarily an enemy of the attached unit. Card text (you, enemy, etc.) is read from the point-of-view of the controller of the card. (Those two are basic mechanics of the game you control cards you own, barring a card effect saying otherwise, and you can only trigger effects on cards you control.) So the controller of the attachment decides whether or not to use the interrupt, but, of course, only the controller of the unit can decide when the unit attacks.

The controller of the card is the only one who can trigger its abilities. Control of the attachment will go to its owner, unless something specifically says otherwise.

Who is the "enemy unit" once The Shining Blade is attached to an opposing unit? Who gets to control The Shining Blade's ability (the Interrupt)? Who gets to control The Shining Blade attachment?
